Why do you want to use a drone to inspect a roof of a building?
Traditionally, workers are required to use a ladder to climb on a roof to conduct roof inspections. High workplaces increase the risk of injury to employees, and keeping the hazards down is a responsibility of the company.
As part of occupational health and safety, the employer will have to provide safety equipment, harness and scaffolding to protect their staff from falling injuries or death. Depending on your task at hand, you might require hiring a crane, and that can be expensive to the operation.
Working at heights is a high-risk job and a leading cause of death and serious injury in Australia.
Study finds more men being injured and killed falling off ladders and the number continues to rise every year.
Between 1 January 2003 – 21 December 2015:
- 359 workers were killed following a fall from a height – 11% of all workers killed over this period
- Half of these falls involved falling three mores or less.
- Greatest fatalities involved falling from roofs and ladders.
